What is a PayYaar savings goal?

A bookkeeping plan for a target you care about — not a bank, FD, or wallet. Progress is estimated from income and the personal expenses you already track.

Set a target and deadline

Name the goal — emergency fund, trip, new phone — pick an amount, and choose how many days you have. PayYaar shows about how much to save each day.

Progress from real spending

Enter monthly income once. PayYaar compares it with your personal expenses so saved progress updates as you spend — no separate piggy-bank account.

Add money you already saved

If you already set cash aside, add it to the goal. Auto progress from income vs spending still counts alongside what you log by hand.

Stay honest about overspend

If a new expense would blow your daily spend cap, PayYaar warns you. You can add it anyway or extend the goal so the plan still fits.

How goals show up

Every goal lands in On track, Achieved, or Missed so you can see what is working.

On track

You are saving enough against the deadline, given income and spending so far.

Spending high

Recent spending is above the daily cap for this goal. The goal stays active so you can course-correct.

Achieved

Saved amount has reached the target. Hit goals move to Achieved so you can start the next one.

Missed

The deadline passed before you reached the target. Missed goals stay in history so you can see what slipped.

How it works

  1. Set income once

Add monthly take-home so PayYaar can tell if the target is realistic.

  2. Create the goal

Name it, set an amount, and pick 30, 60, 90 days — or a custom deadline.

  3. Spend as usual

Personal expenses update auto-saved progress. Add cash you already put aside.

  4. Stay on plan

Get a warning when a new expense would break the daily spend cap.

Savings goals FAQ

What is a PayYaar savings goal?

A savings goal is a target amount and deadline you set in the app. PayYaar estimates progress from the monthly income you enter minus personal spending, plus any amount you add yourself. It is a bookkeeping plan — not a bank account, FD, or investment product.

Do I need to move money into PayYaar?

No. PayYaar never holds or transfers your money. Goal progress is calculated from income and expenses you already track in the app.

Why does PayYaar ask for monthly income?

Income is needed once so the plan can tell whether a goal is realistic and how much you can spend per day. It is stored with your profile and used only for goal coaching in the app.

Can I have more than one goal?

Yes. On-track goals share your income. PayYaar shows a combined daily save and spend cap across active goals so they do not silently over-commit the same rupees.
