# PayYaar — full text > Expanded plain-text copy of the public marketing pages for AI assistants. Short summary: https://payyaar.today/llms.txt ## Home URL: https://payyaar.today/ PayYaar is the free smart expense app for personal budgets and group spending. Auto-detect bank debit alerts, jump in with Google Assistant shortcuts, set savings goals from income vs spending, capture expenses with AI, share live balances, settle with UPI helpers, pay India bills and recharges (including with pcoin), and earn partner cashback as in-app pcoin. Free to start. Available on Android. iOS coming soon. ### Features - Personal expense tracker: Log groceries, bills, rides, and everyday spending in a private list. See monthly totals and stay on top of where your money goes. - Savings goals: Set a target and deadline. PayYaar compares your income with personal spending so progress updates as you spend — and you can add money you already saved. - Group bill splitting: Create shared groups for trips, rent, roommates, couples, office outings, or events. Split equally, by amount, percentage, or shares — with live balances everyone can see. - AI smart expense capture: Add expenses by typing, voice, receipt scan, or sharing text from another app. PayYaar suggests the amount and details — you confirm before anything is saved. - Auto expense detect: On Android, PayYaar reads bank debit alerts from notification access and can auto-save them as expenses for you to verify. No SMS inbox permission. - Item detection: Photograph shopping items — produce, groceries, clothing, electronics, and more. PayYaar estimates local unit market prices near you so you can review and add them as expenses. - Google Assistant shortcuts: On Android, long-press the PayYaar icon or say “Hey Google, open … in PayYaar” to jump into item detection, SMS expenses, add expense, or savings goals. Add-expense from Assistant records a voice note in the app — you still confirm before anything is saved. - PayYaar AI Chat: One chat to plan budgets, check savings goals, add expenses, and ask price questions — then confirm before anything is saved. - UPI settlement helpers: See who owes whom, save a UPI ID, and open your UPI app to pay. PayYaar helps you settle — it never holds or transfers your money. - India bill pay & recharge: Pay utility bills and mobile, DTH, or data-card recharges through licensed BBPS and payment partners (where available). Use UPI or cards via the gateway — or spend enough in-app pcoin to cover the full payable total. - Offers, cashback & coupons: Browse partner deals, earn cashback as in-app pcoin on confirmed purchases, and unlock merchant coupon codes. Spend pcoin on coupons, metered features, or eligible India bill pays. Rewards stay inside PayYaar — not a bank wallet. ### How it works 1. Sign in with your phone: Create a free PayYaar account with OTP verification. Your personal expense list is ready in seconds. 2. Track, detect, or invite a group: Log spending yourself, let Android auto-detect bank debit alerts, ask Google Assistant to open add expense or item detection, or start a shared group and invite friends with a link. 3. Set a goal, capture, and settle: Create a savings goal, use PayYaar AI or Item detection, review balances, and settle with UPI helpers when it is time to clear debts. 4. Earn pcoin — spend on deals or bills: Open Offers for partner cashback, unlock coupons with pcoin, or use pcoin to pay eligible India bills and recharges when you have enough balance. ### Use cases - Trip expense manager: Plan the itinerary with PayYaar AI, split hotels and meals fairly, and settle the trip without spreadsheet chaos. - Roommate & rent splits: Track rent, utilities, and grocery runs in one Home or Roommates group with transparent balances. - Couple & family budgets: Use Couple or Personal templates to plan dates, household spending, and savings goals in one place. - Office & event costs: Split team lunches, office supplies, or event budgets so nobody is left chasing payments later. ### FAQ Q: What is PayYaar? A: PayYaar is a free smart expense tracker and bill split app for Android. It helps you track personal spending, set savings goals, auto-detect expenses from bank alerts, jump in with Google Assistant shortcuts, split group bills, chat with PayYaar AI, settle with UPI helpers, pay India bills and recharges where available, and earn partner cashback as in-app pcoin. Q: Is PayYaar a payment app or wallet? A: No. PayYaar is a bookkeeping and rewards discovery tool. It does not hold money, process peer UPI settlements itself, or act as a bank. Group settlements open in your existing UPI app. Where available for India, bill pay and recharge go through licensed BBPS and payment partners — and you can also pay eligible bills by spending enough in-app pcoin. pcoin is a rewards unit — not withdrawable cash. Q: How do savings goals work? A: Set a name, target amount, and deadline. PayYaar uses the monthly income you enter and your personal spending to estimate how much you are saving. You can also add money you already set aside. Goals show as on track, spending high, achieved, or missed. Progress is a bookkeeping estimate — not a bank balance. Q: How does auto expense detect work? A: On Android, optional SMS expense alerts use notification access to read bank debit alerts in your notification shade — not your SMS inbox. PayYaar can suggest an expense, or auto-save it for you to verify. OTP, promo, and non-debit messages are ignored. You can turn detect and auto-save off in Profile anytime. Q: What can PayYaar AI Chat do? A: PayYaar AI Chat helps you plan budgets for any group template, check savings goals and this month’s leftover, add expenses from chat, and ask price or spend questions. You always review and confirm before anything is saved. Browse Offers and Coupons, or pay India bills and recharges, from their own tabs in the app. Q: How does smart expense capture work? A: You can type, speak, scan a receipt, or share text into PayYaar. AI suggests expense fields for you to review. Nothing from capture is saved until you confirm. On Android, optional auto expense detect can also add bank debit alerts as expenses marked for review, and Google Assistant shortcuts can open add expense, item detection, SMS expenses, or goals. Q: Can I use PayYaar with Google Assistant? A: Yes on Android. Long-press the PayYaar icon or say “Hey Google, open item detection / SMS expenses / add expense / goal in PayYaar.” Add-expense from Assistant starts PayYaar’s in-app voice capture so you can say the amount in English or Hindi. Nothing is saved until you confirm in the app. Q: What is Item detection? A: Item detection lets you photograph shopping items — produce, groceries, clothing, electronics, and more. PayYaar identifies them and estimates local unit market prices near you. You review quantity and rate, then add the items as expenses. Prices are estimates, not scanned tags. Q: How do offers and pcoin cashback work? A: Shop through tracked partner offer links in the app. When a purchase is confirmed by the affiliate partner, a share of commission may be credited as pcoin. Spend pcoin to unlock coupon codes, pay eligible India bills and recharges, or continue using metered features after free limits. Q: Can I pay bills with pcoin? A: Yes, where India bill pay is available. If your pcoin balance covers the full payable total shown in the app (including any disclosed fee), you can settle eligible utility bills and recharges with pcoin instead of the payment gateway. Failed pcoin settlements may be refunded as pcoin to your in-app balance. Q: Is PayYaar free? Is there a Pro plan? A: Yes — PayYaar is free to start with monthly limits on features like smart capture, Item detection, SMS expense detections, PayYaar AI plan generations, and reminders. PayYaar Pro unlocks higher limits and other benefits shown in the app. Billing is handled through Google Play. ## Savings goals URL: https://payyaar.today/goals Set a savings target and deadline. PayYaar estimates progress from monthly income and personal spending. It is not a bank account inside the app. ### Capabilities - Set a target and deadline: Name the goal — emergency fund, trip, new phone — pick an amount, and choose how many days you have. PayYaar shows about how much to save each day. - Progress from real spending: Enter monthly income once. PayYaar compares it with your personal expenses so saved progress updates as you spend — no separate piggy-bank account. - Add money you already saved: If you already set cash aside, add it to the goal. Auto progress from income vs spending still counts alongside what you log by hand. - Stay honest about overspend: If a new expense would blow your daily spend cap, PayYaar warns you. You can add it anyway or extend the goal so the plan still fits. ### Statuses - On track: You are saving enough against the deadline, given income and spending so far. - Spending high: Recent spending is above the daily cap for this goal. The goal stays active so you can course-correct. - Achieved: Saved amount has reached the target. Hit goals move to Achieved so you can start the next one. - Missed: The deadline passed before you reached the target. Missed goals stay in history so you can see what slipped. ### How to set a goal 1. Open Goals: Open the PayYaar app and go to the Goals tab. 2. Enter income and a target: Add monthly income once, then name the goal, set an amount, and pick a deadline. 3. Track as you spend: PayYaar updates progress from personal spending. Add money you already saved, and review on-track, achieved, or missed goals. ### FAQ Q: What is a PayYaar savings goal? A: A savings goal is a target amount and deadline you set in the app. PayYaar estimates progress from the monthly income you enter minus personal spending, plus any amount you add yourself. It is a bookkeeping plan — not a bank account, FD, or investment product. Q: Do I need to move money into PayYaar? A: No. PayYaar never holds or transfers your money. Goal progress is calculated from income and expenses you already track in the app. Q: Why does PayYaar ask for monthly income? A: Income is needed once so the plan can tell whether a goal is realistic and how much you can spend per day. It is stored with your profile and used only for goal coaching in the app. Q: Can I have more than one goal? A: Yes. On-track goals share your income. PayYaar shows a combined daily save and spend cap across active goals so they do not silently over-commit the same rupees. ## Auto expense detect URL: https://payyaar.today/auto-expense On Android, PayYaar reads bank debit alerts from notification access and can auto-save them as expenses to verify. It does not use SMS inbox permission. ### Capabilities - Detect from bank alerts: When a debit SMS or UPI payment alert appears in your notification shade, PayYaar reads the amount and merchant — not your SMS inbox. - Suggest or auto-save: Get a prompt to add the expense, or turn on auto-save so detected debits are logged immediately and marked Needs review. - You verify later: Auto-saved expenses stay flagged until you check the amount and description. A reminder can nudge you if a few are still unverified. - You stay in control: Turn detect or auto-save off in Profile anytime. Pick Personal or an equal-split group as the default destination. ### How it works 1. Enable notification access: On Android, grant notification access so PayYaar can see bank debit alerts. PayYaar does not request SMS inbox permission. 2. Choose detect or auto-save: Detect-only suggests expenses when a debit arrives. Auto-save writes them to your list and asks you to verify. 3. Review and keep going: Open Needs review, confirm or edit the expense, and your tracker — and any savings goals — stay up to date. ### FAQ Q: What is auto expense detect? A: On Android, PayYaar can read bank debit and UPI payment alerts from notification access and turn them into expense drafts. With auto-save on, those drafts are saved for you to verify. OTP, promotional, and non-debit messages are ignored. Q: Does PayYaar read my SMS inbox? A: No. PayYaar uses Android notification access to read text shown in notifications. It does not request SMS inbox permission. You can disable the feature in Profile at any time. Q: Is every SMS turned into an expense? A: No. PayYaar looks for debit and payment alerts with an amount. Promos, OTPs, credits, and messages that are not spending are skipped. Duplicates are ignored on your device. Q: What happens when auto-save is on? A: Detected debit alerts are saved as expenses marked Needs review. You should verify the amount and description. Auto-save will not spend pcoin if you have used your monthly SMS detection quota — leftover alerts fall back to suggestions. Q: Which groups can auto-save into? A: Personal by default, or a group that splits equally among all members. You pick the preferred group in Profile. ## PayYaar AI Chat URL: https://payyaar.today/ai-plan Chat to plan budgets, check savings goals and leftover, add expenses, and ask price questions. PayYaar AI suggests. You confirm before anything is saved. ### Templates - Personal: Plan personal budgets, goals, and everyday spending you track alone. - Trip: Draft itineraries and trip budgets, then split hotels, meals, and rides fairly. - Home & Roommates: Organize household costs, rent shares, and recurring roommate expenses. - Couple: Plan dates, shared goals, and couple spending with a clear budget. - Office & Event: Outline team lunches, office supplies, or event budgets before money gets messy. ### Capabilities - Plan budgets: Chat through trip, home, couple, roommate, office, or event plans with cost breakdowns you can attach to a group. - Add expenses: Log a spend from chat or turn a price suggestion into an expense after you confirm. - Ask prices: Ask what something typically costs, then save the amount you actually paid as an expense. - Goals and savings: Ask how your savings goals are tracking and what leftover you have this month after spend and goal set-aside. Progress is an estimate from income vs spending, not a bank balance. ### How to use it 1. Open PayYaar AI: Open the PayYaar app and go to the AskYaar tab. Ask in plain language what you need. 2. Review suggestions: PayYaar AI may draft a plan or suggest an expense amount. 3. Confirm before saving: Confirm expenses before they are saved. Attach a plan to a group when you are ready. ### FAQ Q: What is PayYaar AI Chat? A: PayYaar AI Chat is your in-app assistant for everyday money tasks: plan budgets, check savings goals and leftover, add expenses, and ask price questions. You review and confirm before anything is saved. Offers, coupons, and India bill payments or recharges live in their own parts of the app — not in this chat. Q: Can I add an expense from chat? A: Yes. Say something like “Add ₹500 dinner” or ask a price question and tap Add to expense list when PayYaar AI suggests an amount. Nothing is saved until you confirm the group and amount. Q: Which templates support AI planning? A: Every group template: Personal, Trip, Home, Couple, Roommates, Office, and Event. Destination or place lookups may use Google Places; AI drafts use Google Gemini and are suggestions you confirm before saving. Q: Is PayYaar AI the same as a payment or booking? A: No. PayYaar AI helps you organize plans and expenses inside PayYaar. It does not book travel, process payments itself, or move money. Settlements use your own payment apps. India bill payments and recharges (where available) are a separate in-app flow through licensed partners. ## Privacy Policy URL: https://payyaar.today/privacy Last updated: August 29, 2026 ### Overview This Privacy Policy explains how PayYaar collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile apps, payyaar.today, and related services (the "Service"). It also describes your rights and choices. By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. ### Information we collect • Account and profile information: phone number, display name (if provided), email address (if provided through sign-in or when you report a transaction issue), preferred currency and language, optional UPI ID, optional monthly income you enter for savings-goal planning, account identifiers, subscription status, pcoin balance and ledger entries (including cashback, spends, bill payments, and in-app purchases), and feature preferences (such as settlement reminders, SMS expense alerts, SMS auto-save, preferred auto-save group, and smart suggestions). • Group and expense data: personal and group expenses, group names and templates, memberships, household details you enter (for example adults/children or a place linked to a Personal group), split details, payer/participant information, notes, budgets, savings goals (title, target, duration, progress fields, and related snapshots), AI plan summaries attached to groups, spending-behaviour insights generated for you, and settlement-related records you create or that are shared with your groups. • India bill payments and recharges (where available): biller or operator identifiers, customer account or subscriber parameters you enter, fetched bill amounts, payment amounts, convenience fees, transaction IDs, payment gateway references (such as Razorpay identifiers), payment status, BBPS reference data, linked group/expense IDs when you choose to record a payment as an expense, and error messages returned by partners. • Transaction issue reports: when you report a problem from Profile → Transactions, we store the transaction ID, your issue description (if provided), the email address you submit with the report, and the report timestamp so we can investigate and respond. • Offers and coupons data: affiliate click records (including a tracking identifier linked to your account), cashback transaction status and commission amounts from partners, coupon unlocks, and revealed promo codes stored with your account. • Usage and quota information: monthly counts of smart captures, Item detections, SMS expense detections, settlement reminders, AI plans, smart suggestion refreshes, spending-behaviour refreshes, budget suggestions, and similar feature usage needed to enforce free-plan limits, pcoin overages, or Pro benefits. • Device and technical information: app version, device model, operating system, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications, crash/diagnostic logs, security events, and App Check signals used to protect backend access. • Subscription and billing metadata: purchase identifiers, renewal status, and related records from Google Play or the Apple App Store for Pro subscriptions and one-time pcoin pack purchases (we do not receive your full payment card details from those stores). • Website analytics: when you visit payyaar.today, we and our analytics providers (such as Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics and Ahrefs) may collect device and usage data via cookies or similar technologies—for example pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, referrer, and browser or device type—to understand traffic and improve the site. • Support communications: information you send when you contact us. ### Optional permissions and on-device data Some features use device permissions only when you choose to use them: • Contacts: if you pick people from your address book, names and phone numbers are read on your device to help you select numbers. We do not upload your entire contact list to our servers. • Camera and photos: receipt images you choose to scan for smart capture, shopping-item photos you choose for Item detection, or UPI QR images you choose to scan to save a UPI ID. • Location: when you use Item detection, approximate device location (and a reverse-geocoded place label when available) may be used on-device and included with the photo request so Gemini can estimate local unit market prices. You can decline location; estimates may then use general market knowledge for your currency region. • Microphone: voice recordings you choose to submit for smart capture or AI Plan field fill. • Shared text: if you use your device's share menu to send text from another app into PayYaar, that text is used only to draft an expense you confirm. • Notifications: local and push alerts for settlement reminders, SMS expense suggestions and auto-save review reminders, smart spending suggestions, invites, and other service messages you enable. • Offline and local storage: expense caches, SMS deduplication records, pending share drafts, and preference keys may be stored on your device until synced or cleared. ### Smart capture, Item detection, AI Plan, and AI processing When you use smart capture, the content you submit—typed text, a voice recording, a receipt photo, or text you share into PayYaar from another app—is sent securely to Google's Gemini AI to suggest expense fields such as amount, description, and split type. When you use Item detection, the shopping photo you choose (and optional approximate location or place label for local pricing) is sent to Gemini to identify shoppable items and estimate unit market rates; you review quantities and rates before saving expenses. When you use PayYaar AI Chat, prompts and related context may be sent to Gemini to generate plans or expense drafts, including savings-goal and leftover summaries when you ask about them. Destination or place searches for trip planning may be sent through our servers to Google Places for autocomplete and place details. When you enable smart spending suggestions, we may send relevant personal expense history to Gemini to suggest refill, bill, or subscription-style reminders delivered by push. When you request spending-behaviour insights, budget suggestions, or savings-goal coaching, we may send relevant personal expense history, monthly income you entered, and related summaries to Gemini to generate tips, budget drafts, or goal-difficulty estimates you can review. AI output is only a suggestion—you always review and choose whether to save or act. Google processes this content as our service provider, and we do not use your AI request content to train our own models. ### SMS expense alerts (Android) If you turn on SMS expense alerts, PayYaar uses Android notification access to read text shown in bank debit SMS notifications on your device. PayYaar does not request SMS inbox permission. Parsing and classification (including filtering OTP, promotional, and non-debit messages) happen on your device. We store a short local deduplication record so the same alert is not suggested repeatedly. If you also enable auto-save, PayYaar may create an expense from a detected debit (amount and description, marked for your review) and sync that expense with your account. The full SMS body is not uploaded; only the parsed expense fields you save or auto-save are stored with your expenses. You can disable detect and auto-save anytime in Profile. ### UPI ID and settlement helpers If you save a UPI ID (manually or by scanning a QR code), we store it with your profile so you and relevant group members can use settlement helpers. Opening a UPI payment deep link sends you to a third-party UPI app; PayYaar does not receive your bank credentials or complete the payment. Settlement reminder pushes use your FCM token and the reminder preferences you set. ### India bill payments, recharges, and transaction support When you use India bill pay or recharge features, we collect and store the information needed to initiate payment, show your Transactions history, and support disputes. This includes biller/operator details, account or subscriber parameters, amounts, fees, gateway transaction IDs, payment status, and timestamps. Card, UPI, and net-banking payments are processed by third-party gateways (such as Razorpay) and licensed BBPS settlement partners. We do not receive or store your full payment card number or CVV on our servers; gateways handle card entry according to their own security standards. If you report an issue on a transaction, we require a valid email address with your report. We may prefill that field from your account email when one is already available. We store the report text, email, transaction reference, and report time so our team and authorized administrators can review the issue, coordinate with payment partners, and contact you. Do not include card numbers, CVV, or banking passwords in issue descriptions. ### Offers, cashback, and coupons When you tap Shop now on an offer, we create a tracked affiliate link that includes an attribution identifier tied to your account (for example your user ID as a partner sub_id) so partners can report conversions. We receive transaction status and commission data from affiliate partners (such as CueLinks) to credit pcoin when cashback is confirmed. When you unlock a coupon with pcoin, we store the unlocked code and related merchant metadata with your account so you can view it later in My coupons. Visiting a merchant from a coupon listing may use a separate tracked channel that does not earn cashback unless stated in the app. When you buy a pcoin pack, the app store processes payment. We receive purchase verification data (such as purchase token, order id, product id, and purchase option id) so we can credit the correct pcoin amount to your account, prevent duplicate credits, and handle disputes or refunds. We do not receive your full card number from the store. Affiliate attribution is necessary to operate Offers and is not a sale of your personal information. ### How we use information We use information to: provide and operate the Service; authenticate users; sync and back up group, expense, plan, savings-goal, and rewards data; calculate goal progress from income and spending you record; process India bill payments and recharges through third-party gateways and BBPS partners; display your Transactions history; investigate transaction issue reports and contact you at the email you provide; deliver push notifications and reminders you enable; process smart-capture, Item detection, AI Plan, smart-suggestion, spending-behaviour, budget-suggestion, savings-goal, and SMS-suggestion or auto-save features; attribute affiliate shopping and credit pcoin; verify and fulfill pcoin pack purchases; unlock and display coupons; enforce free-plan, pcoin, and Pro limits; measure and improve our website; detect, prevent, and investigate abuse (including cashback fraud, purchase abuse, and fraudulent transaction reports); troubleshoot and improve reliability; communicate service notices; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. ### Legal bases for processing (where applicable) Depending on your jurisdiction, we process information under one or more legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (such as security, fraud prevention, and product improvement), compliance with legal obligations, and consent (where required—for example optional permissions or specific processing). ### Service providers and sharing We share information only as needed to operate the Service: • Vendors and processors such as Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, push messaging, and App Check), Google's Gemini AI via Firebase AI Logic, Google Places (location lookups for AI Plan), CueLinks and similar affiliate networks (click attribution and cashback reporting), coupon feed partners, telecom/SMS partners used for phone verification, app-store billing platforms, India payment gateways and BBPS partners (such as Razorpay), website analytics providers (such as Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics and Ahrefs), and support tools. • Your group members, as part of core product functionality (expenses, splits, settlements, shared plans, and UPI details you choose to make available for settlement). • Authorized PayYaar administrators and support staff who need access to investigate transaction issue reports, fraud, billing disputes, or legal requests. • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, or when required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, and security. Merchants you shop with receive whatever information you provide directly on their sites or apps; PayYaar does not control those merchants. Billers and operators receive the account or subscriber details required to fulfill a payment you initiate. ### Data retention We retain account, group, expense, plan, savings-goal, pcoin ledger, coupon unlock, affiliate click/transaction, bill payment and recharge records, transaction issue reports (including report email and description), and in-app purchase verification records while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing disputes, payment partner reconciliation, and dispute resolution. Local SMS deduplication and pending-expense data on your device can be cleared by disabling the feature, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app. Website analytics data is retained according to each provider's settings and our operational needs. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it within reasonable timelines. ### Security We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, Firebase App Check, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. ### Your rights and choices Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or port certain personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can manage optional features (SMS expense alerts, SMS auto-save, settlement reminders, smart suggestions, smart capture, Item detection, savings goals) in the app, revoke device permissions in system settings, and request account deletion via our delete-account page (https://payyaar.today/delete-account) (which covers profile data, pcoin balance including purchased packs, coupon wallet, affiliate click history, bill payment and recharge transaction records, transaction issue reports, purchase verification records tied to your account, and UPI ID as described there). For website analytics, you can use browser controls to block or clear cookies where available. Contact us to submit a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests. ### Children The Service is not intended for children below the age at which parental consent is required in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action. ### International data transfers We and our service providers (including Google Firebase, Google's Gemini AI, Google Places, affiliate partners, and website analytics providers) may process information in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. ### Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on payyaar.today and in the app and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice when required by law. ### Contact For privacy questions, rights requests, or complaints, contact us at support@payyaar.today. ## Terms of Use URL: https://payyaar.today/terms Last updated: August 29, 2026 ### Agreement to these terms These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and PayYaar ("we," "us," or "our"). PayYaar is a bookkeeping and discovery tool—it is not a bank, wallet, money transmitter, payment system provider, or NBFC, and it does not hold or transfer real money between users except as a technology interface to third-party bill-pay and payment gateways. Savings goal progress is an in-app estimate, not a deposit, investment, or guaranteed return. ### Who may use the service You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into a contract where you live and your use is not prohibited by applicable law. If you use the Service for a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms. ### Accounts and security You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. On supported devices you may optionally use a system phone-number hint to speed up sign-in. ### Service availability and changes We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, including feature limits, pcoin earn/spend rates, pcoin pack availability and amounts, offer catalogs, and coupon listings. This includes, without limitation: unlawful conduct; fraudulent or deceptive activity (including fake purchases, self-referral, click fraud, abuse of affiliate cashback or coupons, or abuse of in-app pcoin purchases); attempts to gain unauthorized access; reverse engineering except where prohibited from restriction by law; scraping or automated abuse; malware transmission; impersonation; infringement of rights; and interference with the Service or other users. You are responsible for messages you send when inviting others (including via WhatsApp or similar apps) and for complying with applicable consent and anti-spam laws. ### User content and license You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (such as group names, expenses, notes, AI plan details, savings goals, monthly income you enter for goal planning, UPI IDs you store, and display names). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display that content solely to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content and that sharing group expense data with other members is permitted. ### Optional features and permissions Some features are optional and require device permissions or system settings you control: • Contacts: if you choose to add members from your address book, contact names and phone numbers are read on your device to help you pick numbers. We do not upload your full contact list. • Camera and photos: used when you scan receipts for smart capture, photograph shopping items for Item detection, or scan a UPI QR code. • Location: used when you use Item detection so we can estimate local unit market prices near you. You can decline location; estimates may then rely on general market knowledge for your currency region. • Microphone: used when you record voice for smart capture or AI Plan field fill. • Notifications: used for settlement reminders, SMS expense suggestions and auto-save alerts, smart spending suggestions, invites, and other service alerts you enable. • SMS expense alerts (Android): if enabled, PayYaar uses Android notification access to read bank debit SMS alerts shown in your notification shade. PayYaar does not request SMS inbox permission. If you also enable auto-save, detected debit alerts may be saved as expenses marked for your review. You can turn detect and auto-save off in Profile at any time. ### AI-assisted features Smart capture (including text you share into PayYaar from other apps), Item detection, SMS expense alerts and auto-save, smart spending suggestions, AI spending-behaviour insights, budget suggestions, savings-goal coaching, and PayYaar AI Chat may use automated parsing or AI (including Google Gemini). Outputs are estimates and convenience suggestions only—they may be incomplete or incorrect and are not professional travel, financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Item detection unit prices are market estimates, not scanned price tags or guaranteed retail prices. Savings goal progress is an estimate from income and spending you record, not a bank balance. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming every expense, plan, budget, goal, and suggestion before you rely on it. Auto-saved SMS expenses stay marked for review until you verify them. AI Plan location lookups may use Google Places data; place names and details can change and are provided by Google, not by PayYaar. ### Settlements and UPI helpers Settlement summaries show who owes whom based on expenses you and your group record. They are a bookkeeping aid only and are not legal proof of debt unless you and the other parties separately agree otherwise. PayYaar may let you store a UPI ID and open a third-party UPI app via a deep link (for example upi://pay) to help you pay someone. Payments happen entirely in those third-party UPI apps. PayYaar does not process, hold, clear, or guarantee payments. You are responsible for entering the correct VPA, amount, and payee details. ### India bill payments and recharges Where available for India users, PayYaar may let you pay utility bills, mobile/DTH/data-card recharges, and similar services through third-party payment gateways and licensed BBPS partners (such as Razorpay), or by spending enough in-app pcoin to cover the full payable total shown in the app. PayYaar provides the interface to select a biller or operator, enter required account details, fetch or confirm an amount, and initiate payment. For gateway payments, the actual collection is processed by those third parties; BBPS settlement is fulfilled by the licensed partner and the relevant biller or operator—not by PayYaar holding your money as a bank. You are responsible for verifying biller/operator details, customer account numbers, amounts, and payment status before and after you pay. Minimum recharge amounts, supported categories, biller availability, and convenience fees (if any) are shown in the app and may change. A convenience fee may be added to certain payments and is disclosed before you confirm payment. When you pay with pcoin, the full payable total (including any disclosed fee) is debited from your pcoin balance. PayYaar does not guarantee that a biller will accept a payment, that a recharge will be delivered instantly, or that a failed payment will be refunded on a particular timeline—refunds and disputes for gateway payments are handled according to the applicable gateway, partner, and biller rules and applicable law; failed settlements paid with pcoin may be refunded as pcoin to your in-app balance. Successful bill payments may optionally be recorded as expenses in a group you select. Payment records appear in your Profile Transactions list for your reference. ### Transaction support and issue reports If you believe a bill payment or recharge in PayYaar failed, was charged incorrectly, or was not fulfilled, you may report an issue from the Transactions screen in Profile. When you submit a report, you must provide a valid email address (which may be prefilled from your account if you already have one on file) and may optionally describe the problem. We use this information to investigate with our payment and BBPS partners and to contact you about the report. Submitting a report does not guarantee a refund, reversal, or biller correction. False, abusive, or duplicate reports may be ignored and may lead to suspension under our Acceptable use rules. Do not include payment card numbers, CVV, or full bank account credentials in issue descriptions. ### Offers, cashback, and pcoin The Offers tab may show third-party merchant deals via affiliate partners (such as CueLinks). When you shop through a tracked link, we may earn a commission. A configurable share of confirmed commission may be credited to your account as pcoin—an in-app rewards unit, not cash, not a bank balance, and not withdrawable as money. Where available on Android, you may also buy pcoin packs through Google Play. Cashback and promotional pcoin may be pending, accrued, delayed, reduced, or voided if a merchant cancels an order, a partner reverses a transaction, fraud or abuse is suspected, or a promotion ends. Earn rates, attribution windows, and eligible categories can change. You must not generate fraudulent clicks or purchases to earn pcoin. You may spend pcoin to unlock coupon codes, continue using metered features after free limits, or pay eligible India bills and recharges in the app when you have enough balance. pcoin spent on a failed bill settlement may be refunded to your in-app balance. ### Buying pcoin packs Where available, you may buy pcoin packs as one-time in-app purchases through Google Play (and, if offered later, the Apple App Store). Pack prices and the number of pcoin credited are shown in the app at purchase and may change over time. Purchased pcoin is credited only to the signed-in PayYaar account that completes the purchase and remains an in-app rewards unit—not cash and not withdrawable. Purchases are processed by the app store; billing, taxes, and refunds (if any) are governed by that store's terms unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may verify and record purchase tokens, order identifiers, and product/option ids to credit your wallet and prevent duplicate or fraudulent redemptions. Purchased pcoin is generally non-refundable once credited, and pcoin already spent on coupons, metered features, or bills is not restored except where required by law or when we refund pcoin after a failed bill settlement. If a store refunds a purchase, we may reverse the related pcoin credit (including reducing your balance below the credited amount if you already spent some of it). ### Coupons marketplace Coupon listings may come from partner feeds and affiliate partners. Spending pcoin may unlock a merchant promo code for you to copy and use on the merchant's site or app. PayYaar does not issue, guarantee, or control merchant discounts, stock, prices, or redemption terms. Unlocked codes and pcoin spent to unlock them are generally non-refundable except where required by law. Visiting a merchant from a coupon listing may not earn cashback unless the app clearly states otherwise. ### Language and translations PayYaar may be offered in multiple languages. Translated in-app text, notifications, and other localized content are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between a translated version and the English version of these Terms, the English version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you notice a translation that appears incorrect, misleading, unclear, or inconsistent with the feature shown on screen, please report it to support@payyaar.today. Include the language, where you saw it (screen, button, or notification), and the text in question. We will review reports in a reasonable time but do not guarantee immediate correction. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or confusion arising from translation errors. You remain responsible for verifying amounts, splits, and other financial details before saving or acting on them. ### Subscriptions, fees, and billing Certain features require a paid Pro subscription. Free plans include monthly limits on smart capture, Item detection, SMS expense detections, settlement reminders, AI plans, smart suggestion refreshes, spending-behaviour insights, budget suggestions, and how many unique people you can split with, as shown in the app. After a free-plan limit is reached, some features may allow continued use by spending pcoin at rates shown in the app. Pro subscriptions and one-time pcoin pack purchases are separate products. Prices, billing cycles, renewal terms, pack amounts, and included features are displayed in-app at purchase. Purchases made through Google Play or the Apple App Store are governed by the store provider's billing terms, and refunds (if any) are handled according to those terms unless required otherwise by applicable law. We may change pricing, quotas, pack amounts, and pcoin costs prospectively with notice where required. ### Third-party services The Service relies on third-party providers such as Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, push messaging, and app security), Google's Gemini AI via Firebase AI Logic, Google Places (location autocomplete for AI Plan), CueLinks and similar affiliate networks (offers and cashback attribution), coupon feed partners, telecom/SMS partners for phone verification, app-store billing platforms, India bill-pay and BBPS partners and payment gateways (such as Razorpay), and apps you open yourself (such as WhatsApp or UPI apps). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, billers, operators, payment gateways, merchants, or apps we do not control. ### Intellectual property The Service, including software, branding, design, and content we provide, is owned by PayYaar or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for limited rights to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you. ### Suspension and termination You may stop using the Service at any time. You can request account deletion as described on our delete-account page (https://payyaar.today/delete-account). We may suspend or terminate your access—and may void or freeze pcoin—if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, abused cashback, coupons, or in-app purchases, created legal or security risk, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, unused pcoin (earned or purchased) and unlocked coupon access may be forfeited, and provisions that by nature should survive (for example ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute terms) remain in effect. ### Disclaimers To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation; that automated expense, SMS auto-save, Item detection price estimates, plan, spending-behaviour, budget, savings-goal, or cashback suggestions will be accurate; that merchants will honor coupons or deals; that purchased or earned pcoin will keep a particular value; that UPI payments initiated outside PayYaar will succeed; or that bill payments, recharges, or BBPS settlements will always succeed, post instantly, or be refundable on your preferred timeline. ### Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, pcoin value (earned or purchased), or business opportunities arising from or related to the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) amounts you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50, unless applicable law does not allow this limitation. ### Indemnification To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your shopping or cashback activity, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law. ### Governing law and disputes These Terms are governed by the laws of India, excluding conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in India, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise. ### Changes to these terms We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on payyaar.today and in the app and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. ### Contact If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at support@payyaar.today. ## Blog posts - PayYaar vs Tricount: A Real Look at What You Get for Free: https://payyaar.today/blog/payyaar-vs-tricount-a-real-look-at-what-you-get-for-free So you're stuck choosing between PayYaar and Tricount for splitting bills with roommates, friends, or whoever keeps "forgetting" to pay you back.
